Pellet Mill Lubrication

GP Reeves has always been committed to delivering customized solutions for the industries we serve. When a pellet feed manufacturer approached us to enhance their pellet mill lubrication system—aiming to save time and reduce material usage—we rose to the challenge.

The manufacturer’s previous setup involved transporting a 120-pound keg of grease up three floors every 2-3 days, and the plant’s environmental conditions required the pump to be thoroughly cleaned with each refill. We optimized their system to use a 400-pound drum of grease that stays on the first floor and lasts up to ten days. This drum is housed in a dust-tight enclosure, keeping both the grease and the equipment clean.

Additionally, they previously relied on a secondary system to manually grease the mill’s front side once per shift, which took up to 45 minutes of the operator’s time. Our new design integrates a high-flow dispense gun connected directly to the main drum, reducing manual greasing time to just 10 minutes and eliminating the need for a secondary source. This streamlined system improves efficiency, reduces operator workload, and ensures reliable lubrication throughout the pellet mill.
