Integrating Success with UV Cure Dispensing
Application Video
A long-time customer approached GP Reeves to develop a system for dispensing UV-cure potting material onto electrical connections in trailer components. Together, we created a solution that exceeded their expectations and met the end-user’s requirements. The system utilizes a GP Reeves pump and rotometers to precisely dispense UV-cure material onto the final product.
The process begins at the first station, where the operator places a pre-finished part into a nest with an HMI display. The part then cycles to the initial stations, where UV-cure material is injected around each electrical control connection. The potting material flows to encapsulate each electrical pin connection, providing a secure bond. In the subsequent stations, a Loctite curing system is used to UV-cure the material, creating a watertight seal. The part then moves to a final check station, where a pin mark is applied to confirm it has been processed by the machine and not manually. At the last station, a quality check determines if the part meets standards. If it fails, it is discarded through a reject chute; if it passes, it completes the cycle as a finished good.
