Changing a UV Cure Bladder Bag
Instructional Video
Installing and removing bladder bags is an essential process for maintaining efficient operation of your pump system. This guide provides step-by-step instructions for properly installing a bladder bag into a pail, securing it to the inductor, and priming the pump. It also covers how to safely disassemble the system and remove the bladder bag once it is empty.

Getting Started
This guide explains the process of installing a bladder bag. Once you remove the lid from the pail, you will see a bag inside with a connection point and a cap. Leave the plug in place for now to avoid disturbing the material. The bladder bag consists of two layers: the bottom layer fits inside the pail to help push the bag down as the material is dispensed.
Installing the Bag
To install the bag, start by placing the neck of the bag into the inductor. Secure it using the retaining collar, which slides into place to hold the neck firmly. For this demonstration, we will not remove the plug from the bag, so the material will remain sealed. Begin installing the inductor into the pail by tucking all the flaps from the bottom layer of the bag inside the pail. This step may take some time to ensure the flaps are positioned correctly.
If needed, you can use the hub above the inductor plate, which has retaining screws, to provide extra grip. As you lower the inductor, ensure the flaps remain unfolded and face downward. Once everything is properly aligned and sliding freely, remove the screws from the hub so it can be lowered onto the inductor.
Before proceeding, ensure all surfaces are clean, especially the rubber seal around the neck of the bag. This seal compresses to secure the neck in place when the plug is removed, and the hub is lowered. Align the holes for the retaining screws with the hub, using the ram elevator control to raise or lower the pump as needed. Work carefully to ensure the hub is flat and the screws go in straight.
With the holes aligned, insert the retaining screws, ensuring they are tightened securely. A new rubber seal may leave a small gap, so make sure the screws are tightened enough to compress the seal and pinch the neck of the bag. If necessary, use pliers to give the screws an additional quarter-turn. Failing to tighten the screws properly could result in material leaking around the hub. Once tightened, the assembly should be secure.
Restarting Your System
At this point, the setup is complete, and you can move the ram to the down position. However, wait to do this until you are ready to prime the pump. Normally, you would remove the plug from the material container at this stage to allow the material to flow into the pump. Before lowering the ram and applying pressure to the bag, ensure the pump bleed valve is open to prime the system. Bladder bags are designed to apply limited pressure, making them suitable for this type of product.
Once the ram is in the down position and the pump is primed, the system is ready to operate. To disassemble the system, reverse the steps. Loosen the retaining screws, which are normally tightened at the bottom of the pail. If the bag is empty, you can raise it out of the pail using the ram elevator lever. If material remains in the bag, leave it at its current level.
Insert the retaining screws back into the hub to provide a handle for lifting the assembly. Push out the retaining collar. Adhesive material may accumulate in this area, so you might need to tap the collar out gently with a hammer. Once the bag is loose, it can be removed from the pail.
Notes
For this demonstration, we left the plug in place but remember to remove the plug when using the product in practice. Properly removing the plug ensures smooth material flow. That concludes the bladder bag installation and removal process. If you have additional questions or need assistance, feel free to reach out.
