A grease filter is essential in a production greasing system. Contaminants can enter the grease during pail or barrel changes.
Rust, Scale, pipe joint compound, and even teflon tape can break loose inside the plumbing and jam up grease regulators, valves or dispensers.
All of this will result in unnecessary downtime.
If the contaminants do make it through the dispensing system, they can become part of your product causing eventual defects and failures. The
cost of a filter is minute compared to downtime and defects!
The 420 micron element is recommended for most grease applications. That size is small enough to stop damaging debris, while passing
the small particles often found in the normal content of grease. For low viscosity grease that does contain particles, and for heavy oils, the
149 micron filters are good choice.
