WHY YOU NEED A GUS

  • You are applying grease to production parts and don’t want air in the parts instead of grease.

HOW IT WORKS
A GUS can be purchased with an integral microprocessor, PLC, or for control by the user’s PLC. Grease is supplied to the GUS at 400 to 2000 psi from a pump or header. Grease is automatically transferred to the air-purge section where a patented process (US patent number 6,053,285) is used to discover and purge grease that contain unacceptable amounts of trapped air. Airless grease is transferred to the outlet accumulator section where it is available to supply nearby grease dispensers. During pail changes (when grease is not being pumped to the GUS inlet), grease from the outlet accumulator will be available for uninterrupted production.

GUS Selection Notes
GUSes are custom engineered and sized to supply airless grease to downstream dispensers. Prior to selecting a GUS, you must know the total required grease volume in cc per minute and the required grease pressure to all dispensers. If you need large amounts of grease to be dispensed from only one or two nozzles, check out our AAPGD dispensers on pages 20 and 21. GUS is manufactured exclusively by G. Grease Uninterruptible Source removes air from grease and facilitates continuous operation even during grease source changes. GUS1027B does not have an inlet grease reservoir but can be connected directly to 400 to 2,000 PSI Grease Pressure. This GUS has a 115 cc outlet grease accumulator with a 1.8 to 1 boost ratio and functions with NLGI 000 to 2 grease. This GUS requires 120 VAC and compressed air for operation. It includes a microprocessor with operator interface. This GUS is designed for systems averaging 4 cc per minute when not more than 80% of grease contains air and at that usage its output accumulator can facilitate continued dispensing for up to 50 minutes if the grease source is being changed. This GUS also includes a 420 micron filter and ball valve.

Grease Uninterruptible Source removes air from grease and facilitates continuous operation even during grease source changes.  GUS1068 does not have an inlet grease reservoir but can be connected directly to 400-2000 PSI Grease Pressure. This GUS has a 30 cc outlet grease accumulator with a 10 to 1 boost ratio and functions with NLGI 000 to 2 grease.  The GUS requires compressed air and 120 v.a.c. for operation. The GUS includes a 24 VDC power supply, Reeves2 Microprocessor with HMI, NEMA 12 enclosure, terminals, and a maintained contact Emergency Stop button. The Microprocessor is designed to communicate with system PLC using I/O relays. The HMI will be used to display all faults and display the status of the GUS. This GUS also includes 420 micron filter and back plate.

GUS1045-1006 includes a 1,850 cc manual fill FIFO reservoir (with hydraulic coupler) for temporary filling with 1000-3000 PSI grease pressure from grease pump. This GUS also has a 115 cc FIFO outlet grease accumulator with a 1.8 to 1 boost ratio and functions with NLGI 000 to 2 grease. This GUS includes OMRON PLC for control and has relay comunication with system PLC. This GUS includes a floor mounted stand with wheels. GUS requires compressed air and 120 VAC for operation. GUS also includes 420 Micron inlet filter.

Grease Uninterruptible Source removes air from grease and supplies multiple dispensers with airless grease.  GUS1051 includes a 2,200 cc manual fill reservoir (with 1.8:1 ratio) for manual filling with 1000-3000 PSI grease pressure from a user supplied grease pump.  This GUS also has a 154 cc outlet grease accumulator with a 2.6 to 1 boost ratio and functions with NLGI 000 to 3 grease (including Dow 111).  This GUS requires 120 VAC and compressed air for operation and includes a microprocessor with operator interface.   This GUS also includes a low level sensor and alarm contacts to alert personnel when the inlet reservoir needs to be filled.  Outlet accumulator and air purge sections use linear position sensors.  Outlet accumulator includes relief valve set at 350 p.s.i.  This GUS is capapable of 10 fill-test-transfer cycles per minute with Dow 111 and can supply 20 cc per minute when no grease is rejected.
